Lean In Atlanta is an all-inclusive Chapter of support, empowerment, and education for women in the metro Atlanta area and those who wish to join us remotely. Lean In Atlanta welcomes all (men and women) to learn from and grow with our community.
We currently have EIGHT amazing small Circles. These meet on a regular basis set by their members/leaders and discuss topics also set by members and leaders. Each of them are still accepting members. Circles have total freedom to form the groups and focus they want to form. We only ask that leaders are familiar with the principles/mission of LeanIn.Org and Lean In Atlanta and fall within these guidelines. We want to incubate MORE circles, so if you have an interest in forming a small circle within your community or group, look out for news of Circle kickoff meetings on our social pages.
This year, Lean In Atlanta became an Official Regional Chapter within LeanIn.Org's purview. At the Chapter level, we organize events, hold training and networking sessions, and work with the LeanIn.Org team to grow and engage the Lean In community. The Regional Leaders Program is a pilot program of LeanIn.Org, the nonprofit organization founded by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg to empower all women to achieve their ambitions. The Regional Leaders Program highlights the work of individuals within the Lean In community and provides them with the financial and operational support they need to be successful.
We seek gender equality for women and men in the workplace, in the home, and in everyday life, via policy and perception. We seek this in our communities, and to be a force for good in those communities.
*Empowerment - First and foremost, our Chapter is a tool for empowerment and personal and professional growth among our members.
*Self Love - Our Chapter promotes a positive message of self love, emphasizing mental and physical health and wellness among our members.
*Inclusion - Our Chapter practices intersectional feminism, the view that women experience oppression in varying configurations and degrees, taking into account race, gender, class, ability, and ethnicity. Additionally, our Circle places paramount importance upon our male allies, and seeks to make our group welcoming and valuable for all.
*Education - Our Chapter is a resource for knowledge of issues affecting women for members and beyond. Our Chapter is also a force for good in the community.
LeanIn.Org is a nonpartisan organization.
Gender equality is a nonpartisan issue.
